The key to having anything you need, is collecting everything under the sun.
A recent trip to my friend’s house made me realize, he is a man with truly everything. Aaron has a bike barn on the Maine/New Hampshire border. He tends to restore classic Harley Davidsons of the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s. I stopped in for some quick electrical work on my bike. It was the first time he’s seen my recent barn find, and said “Is that a GS750?” I proclaimed it was and he disappeared for 5 minitues into one of the many sheds and shanties on his property. He then emerged with an armful of metal: “Would you like a restored carburetor, new tail light assembly or this fork tree?” Each one an exact fit for my year/make/ and model.
Looking at the small canvas bag I rode up with, I sadly declined. But something tells me it will still be there when I need it most.
